A private reception was held for Pulitzer Prize winning reporter, Eli Saslow, at the home of Susan Rose before his public lecture co-presented by UCSB Arts & Lectures and the Walter H. Capps Center for the Study of Ethics, Religion and Public Life, at UCSB Campbell Hall.

Saslow discussed his new book Rising Out of Hatred: The Awakening of a Former White Nationalist, the powerful story of Derek Black, who was raised to take over the white nationalist movement but whose life was transformed during his time at New College of Florida, in Sarasota.
